Junior Sunday Circle is a drop-off program where parents can leave their child in the hands of Friendship Circle leaders and enthusiastic teen volunteers. Junior Sunday Circle offers a unique opportunity for children with disabilities, aged 5-12, to gain positive experiences in a group setting while still receiving one-on-one attention from their teen volunteers. In addition to the engaging activities led by the leaders and volunteers, each session is attended by an external facilitator who brings an exciting experience for everyone to be involved in, such as drumming and music by The Rhythm Village or dancing with Briden Starr.
Participants and volunteers are engaged in different activities such as music and movement, arts and crafts, sport and outdoor games, and sensory and gross-motor activities. The program’s unique environment is created by the energy of our teen volunteers and their consistent attendance, which helps to create meaningful and long-lasting friendships.
Light snacks are provided. Participants and volunteers are required to bring their own water bottle.
