Teen Sunday Circle is a social and life skills program for young people with disabilities, aged 13-18, where parents can leave their child in the hands of Friendship Circle leaders and enthusiastic teen volunteers.
The Teen Sunday Circle program has a specific focus on developing independence, and social and life skills in a fun and engaging way. Each session consists of a cooking program whereby teen volunteers work with their buddy to follow the recipe to cook something delicious. After cooking, there is a team building activity where the whole group work together to overcome an obstacle. Finally, we have music or dance by one of the external facilitators from The Rhythm Village which is always a highlight.
The program’s unique environment is created by the energy of our teen volunteers and their constant attendance, which helps to create meaningful and long-lasting friendships.
Light snacks are provided. Participants and volunteers are required to bring their own water bottle.
