Registration

How do I register?

You can register anytime by clicking the Register button.

Straightaway, you'll receive a registration email with details of your online fundraising page.

How much does it cost to register?

Registration is FREE! We encourage you to fundraise to support Friendship Circle and our programs.

How do I create a team?

To create a team:

  1. After you have registered, click on your name in the top right corner (you will have to log in if you do this at a later stage).
  2. Select "Dashboard" under "My Fundraising" in the dropdown menu.
  3. Select "Create a team".

Participants and donors can then search your team name to make a donation or join your team.

How do I add someone to my team?

You can add family members when you register for the Walk. If you would like to add them at a later stage, please follow the steps below:

Family Members: When logged in, select "Edit My Page" in your account menu and click on the "Add Family Member" button.

Friends:
Send them the link to the Walk website. Once they register, they can search for your team. To make it easier for them to join, it is a good idea to let them know your team name.

How can I see who is on my team?

When you log in to your dashboard, click on the "My Team" section in the left-hand navigation menu. Here, you will be able to access a "Team Members" tab where you’ll be able to view everyone who has registered to be in your team. You will also be able to view your donations and ask for support.

How do I join an existing team?

Please email the names and email addresses of those who wish to join the team, along with the team name to [email protected].

Fundraising

Where does my fundraising money go?

100% of your money goes directly to Friendship Circle to help support our programs, including Day Camps and Getaways. To find out more, check out the Our Impact page. You can also contact Friendship Circle at [email protected] to find out what's going on in your community.

How can I promote the Friendship Walk fundraiser?

Once you have created your fundraising page, you will be able to start planning the promotion of your fundraiser.

Using social media is a great way to promote The Walk, as you will have control over the images and updates you share, and you will be able to engage with people directly making your messages personalised.

How can I thank my donors?

Saying thank you is so important! Let your donors know how grateful you are for their donation.

Thank your donors via your social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), or by sending them an email or an SMS. 

Fundraising Dashboard

What is my fundraising dashboard?

Your online fundraising dashboard is your own website where you can easily manage your fundraising.

You can personalise your page with your own story and photos, as well as send out emails to collect donations and thank your donors.

How do I upload photos to my page?

You can upload photos by clicking on the "Edit My Page" tab, then scroll down to "Your Gallery".

How do I change my message or page name?

You can change your page name and personal message by clicking on the "Edit My Page" tab. Follow the prompts and ensure you save your changes.

Click the "View" link above your fundraising information to see your changes.

How do I ask people for donations?

You can email your networks directly from the fundraising dashboard by clicking on the "Send Email" tab.

You can use the email template provided or write your own message to request donations.

Why donate to Friendship Circle?

Friendship Circle is a hyper-local charity located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs that helps people with disabilities connect to the community through engaging young volunteers and creating amazing shared experiences.

How do I donate to a fundraiser?

Every cent counts! To make a donation to a participant or team:

  1. Head to the homepage and select "Donate".
  2. If you want to donate to a specific fundraiser, click on "Donate to a Friend" in the top right corner of the website instead.
    • Type in the fundraiser’s name. 
    • You will be taken to their online fundraising page to make a donation.

Are donations to Friendship Circle tax-deductible?

NSW Friendship Circle is a registered DGR1. This means all donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

The Walk

Where is the Walk located this year?

We are excited to announce that the Walk will be back at Vaucluse Public School this year. Doors will open at 9:30am. So get ready to join in all the fun, rain, hail or shine!

Is there a virtual component to the Walk?

This year our Walk will be in person. If you are unable to attend, you can still support us by make a donation.

Who is the Walk for?

The Walk is a great activity for all ages. So bring the whole family and your friends!

How long is the Walk?

The Walk is a little over 2km around Watsons Bay and takes about 20-30 minutes to complete.

Where should I park?

The Walk is a loop that starts at Vaucluse Public School and ends back at the school for a fun after party. Best would be to park close to the school entrance on Cambridge Avenue or on Hopetoun Avenue and surrounding streets, but come early to get the best spots!
